疑うよりも信じることを 日本の難民を救う「ウェルカムの魔法」
第24回世界青年の船事業出身の渡部さんは、Forbes Japan主催の次代を担う30歳未満の30人『30 Under 30』のソーシャルアントレプレナー部門に選出されました。OECD諸国の中でも最も厳しい難民受け入れ国の日本で、高い発信力と継続して課題に取り組む姿勢が高く評価されたノミネーションでした。
「Forbes 30 Under 30」とは、次代を担う30歳未満のイノベーターを毎年30名表彰するアワードです。Forbes JAPANでの初の主催になる日本版30 Under 30では、「アート」「エンターテインメント&スポーツ」「ビジネス」「ソーシャルアントレプレナー」「ヘルスケア&サイエンス」の5つのカテゴリーで30名選出されます。今回、渡部さんは「ソーシャルアントレプレナー」部門での選出となりました。
今回のノミネーションは、ForbesJAPAN編集部とNPO法人CROSS FIRLEDS小沼大地氏の推薦により実現いたしました。小沼氏は「彼女に期待しているのは、ものすごく発信力があることです。そういう力を持っている人はこれまであまり国際協力（の分野）にいなかった。今風なことができる人が、クラシックの社会課題に入っていった。そして、それを続ける力はあると思います」と語りました。
WELgeeの目下の目標は、難民一人ひとりがもつ専門性や経験を活かした就労機会とのマッチングです。一人ひとりの志やスキルを発掘し、社会で活躍しうる人材として企業とマッチングすることを通じ、難民認定をただ待ち続ける以外の選択肢を増やし、彼らが未来を担い、日本社会にも新しい価値を生みだす仕掛けをつくります。
Recognised in Forbes JAPAN’s 30 under 30 list in the Social Enterpreteur category Tokyo, 22nd August, 2018 – Sayaka Watanabe, founder of NPO WELgee, has been named in the social Entrepreneur category of Forbes 30 under 30 list of leaders shaping the next generation.
She was awarded for her outstanding efforts to change the lives of refugees in Japan, a country which has one of the lowest refugee recognition rates among OECD member countries.
Forbes 30 under 30 recognizes 30 innovators every year who are shaping the next generation. This is the first time Forbes Japan has launched a 30 under 30 list, which nominates 30 candidates across five categories; Art, Entertainment and Sport, Business, Social Entrepreneur, and Healthcare and Science. Sayaka Watanabe was recognized in the Social Entrepreneur category.
This nomination came from a recommendation from the CEO and co-founder of NPO Cross Fields, Daichi Konuma. Mr. Konuma commented, “I am expecting more great things from Sayaka, as I have yet so meet someone with as much passion in the field of international cooperation. Working to solve challenges faced by society, I can’t wait to see what she does next in this field.”
Going forward, WELgee will be focusing on matching employment opportunities which utilize the unique and specialist skills of each refugee. By discovering the skills and aspirations of individual refugee, this project aims to create a framework for the refugees to create new value in Japanese society by increasing opportunities, instead of simply waiting for refugee recognition, through matching companies with human resources who in turn be active in society.
